The second season premiere of Starz's underrated series Boss, "Louder Than Words," ended with a rather unexpected bang. Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen the episode, which aired Friday, yet.
Just after he finished giving a speech and was exiting a public stage with his wife, Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer) dropped to the ground as shots were fired. Kane managed to escape unscathed, but his wife, Meredith (Connie Nielsen), appeared to have been shot and was last seen lying on the stage, motionless, as her vegetative father watched from his television set at home.
Of course, there's little doubt who's behind the attack; Darius (Rotimi Akinosho) was last seen talking to government upstart Trey (T.I.) about assassinating Kane in retaliation for jailing his daughter, Emma (Hanna Ware), as a political maneuver. Who actually pulled the trigger is up in the air, but it seems fairly certain who's behind it (unless, of course, there's a twist).
In a new clip from "Through and Through," Friday's episode, we get to see the aftermath of the shooting from the media's perspective. Sam Miller (Troy Garity) deals with a chaotic newsroom in the aftermath of the big event, clearly overwhelmed by the sudden pressures he's facing so early on in his position as editor-in-chief of The Sentinel. He's certainly working to find out who the shooter is, but will he be able to do so before Kane finds out who it was? The race is certainly on.
