‘Continuum’ a series from Showcase about a futuristic cop, who gets teleported to the year 2012 from the year 2077, is being renewed for a second season. The series has picked up ratings after the first season aired back in the summer and the channel has decided that it was a tremendous success. There are many who agree that the series was a hit and it sure kept the audience on the edge of their seats as they ended on a cliffhanger.
The sci-fi show was definitely one that some felt was outdated and some even said that it wasn’t going to last a few episodes. However, with Rachel Nichols leading the cast as Kiera Cameron, she pulled off the act along with her tech-in-charge Erik Knudsen who played Alec Sadler, the man who created the technology 2077 operates on now. However, in 2012, he is only a teenager.
Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media told in a press release, “’Continuum’ is a tremendous success for the channel. We are proud to green-light such a prolific ratings hit and original series for a second season and to continue Kiera’s journey through time for our dedicated viewers.” Clearly the show was a hit to be able to go on to another season. The futuristic cop plotline has been done in the past, but the show’s creators, Jeremy Smith and Jonathan Walker are pleased.
The show continues to get good news because the UK has decided to grab up the series for their viewers and Syfy will be airing it on September 27, 2012. With only 10 episodes in the first season and 13 in the next, ‘Continiuum’ is surely going to deliver as the world gets to know Kiera Cameron and the criminals she has to face in hopes of returning to her loving husband and waiting son. Season Two of ‘Continuum’ will be filming in 2013.
