If it is one thing we will all miss with the departure of Andy Samberg on Saturday Night Live, it is Digital Shorts. Throughout his time on the skit series, Samberg introduced the world to The Lonely Island. He brought us "Lazy Sunday," "D***k in a Box," "I'm on a Boat," "Boombox," "Reba" and "Threeway" just to name a few. However, few were as shocking (and maybe even disturbing) as "Motherlover."
"Motherlover" followed our favorite stars of "D**K in a Box" as they realize they forgot mother's day! Since they do not have presents for their moms, who they love so dearly, they decide to give each other to their mom's for a night of passion. The song is gutsy, awkward and uncomfortable to listen to, but the most shocking part is that the Digital Short starred Hollywood A-lister Susan Sarandon!
Sarandon recently admitted to Access Hollywood Live's Billy Bush and Kit Hoover that she had her doubts about participating in the skit. “I went to my son, who was 15 at the time and I said, ‘They want me do this sequel,’ and he said, ‘[Their song] ‘D*** In A Box’ is a classic, you have to do it!’”
She also revealed that there's extra, more offensive, footage that didn't even make the final cut! “We filmed that like until two o’clock in the morning and you start to do very strange things,” she said.
We'd just like to take a moment to thank her son for making the right decision.
