Chest bump! Get ready to see actor Sean Hayes... just about everywhere. The Emmy-winner may be best remembered for his highly touted turn as the flamboyant-and-loving-it Jack from "Will & Grace," but look for him to make his mark in a number of upcoming recurring and guest roles.
In the Christina Applegate/Will Arnett/Maya Rudolph vehicle "Up All Night," Hayes is set to have a recurring arc as Ava (Rudolph)'s passive-aggressive arch-nemesis.
"My character, Walter, used to be Ava's musical accompanist," Hayes tells TV Guide. "When Ava got the talk show that catapulted her to stardom, I assumed she would bring me along." When this doesn’t happen, Walter feels slighted and goes on to take it out on his old friend after the two rekindle their friendship after meeting at a birthday party.
In addition, the actor will appear in three episodes of "Smash," where he will portray a diva cast in the season's new show-inside-the-show "Liaisons." Hayes describes his Terrence Falls character as the quintessential high-strung diva: "My character comes in and isn't happy with anything... He tries to change the direction of the show."
Fans of the show may be hoping for a "Will & Grace" reunion, as Debra Messing is already in the musical series cast, but Hayes is unsure if that will happen. "As far as I was told, we have no scenes [together]." Sounds like fans of the six-years-gone NBC sitcom will have to settle for “Just Jack!”
