'Bunheads' Bailey Buntain to Guest on 'The Middle'

Bailey Buntain has become quite popular on ABC Family’s ‘Bunheads’ this year, and ABC’s hit series ‘The Middle’ intends to capitalize on the popular young girl… by casting her as a popular young girl.

Buntain will guest-star on an episode of the mega-hit series ‘The Middle’ as Jenna, according to an exclusive from EW.com. Cast as Jenna, Buntain will play an incoming high school freshman that Sue (Eden Sher) tries to mentor, who then swiftly becomes more popular than her supposed help.

The role is actually quite a boon for the young Buntain, as ‘Bunheads’ remains her only major television credit to date. ABC’s willingness to showcase their dancing talent in front of such a wide market as ‘The Middle’s viewership shows a commitment to cross-promotion, but also confidence in the drawing power of the television-rookie.

Who knows? If successful, ABC could take a relative unknown and have a marketable starlet with many years of popularity ahead of her… much like the plot of the episode she’s been cast in. Eerie.
