ABC has paired Happy Ending and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 back-to-back on Tuesdays this fall. With that move, executive producers on both shows have discussed having characters on the two shows cross over into each other's worlds, according to TV Guide.
Nahnatchka Kahn, the creator of Apartment 23, said that Happy Endings executive prodcer Jonathan Groff has pitched her an idea for a crossover. His idea? A cameo at the end of an episode of Happy Endings that includes James Van Der Beek, who plays James Van Der Beek on 23, and his old show, Dawson's Creek.
"At the end of one of their episodes, they're watching Dawson's Creek and they're like, 'That was a good show. Whatever happened to that guy?' and they have some theories about what he's doing now and then they go right into our show and we see what James is doing," Khan said. "I would love it."
Cute, I guess, but kind of tame. There's a whole lot more they could do with the two worlds, than a quick cut to the next show. But, I guess that's why they write in Hollywood and I write for a TV news site.
Happy Endings and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 return Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. EST, respectively, on ABC.
