Quick, think up some adjectives to describe Simon Cowell. Keep going until you get to "hero."
Many, if not all, of you are still thinking. It's not a hat that fits easily on his smug little head.
But, according to the Hollywood Reporter, it might be an accurate adjective. The ex-American Idol judge, who now stars on The X Factor, apparently saved nine people from a sinking yacht while on vacation in St. Tropez with his ex-girlfriend Sinitta. Upon receiving the distress call yesterday, Cowell sent the captain of his own yacht to investigate the distressed seafarers.
Sinitta took to Twitter to tell the world about their heroic actions.
"OMG!! Just had a May Day message , 35ft boat sinking.. SC has sent us to help and rescue 9 people on board! Slipstream look alike boat," she said. "Everyone ok, noone hurt.captain won't let boat sink, petrol in sea etc would cause major problems and fines. No tide, so hole plugged."
Cowell will be seen again soon, as The X Factor debuts this season September 11. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be judging alongside Cowell this season.
Bravo to Simon. I know he can be a bit of a jerk (I spent a few minutes finding an appropriate word), but this was the right thing to do.
