She can't be stopped, she can only be contained. And even then, you better pack a lunch, because Honey Boo Boo is conquering America, pagent by pagent, day by day.
TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, hit another ratings high on Wednesday. So high, in fact, that Honey and the rest of her self-proclaimed redneck family drew, among adults 18-49, a rating that bested all other cable outings for the night -- coverage of the Republican National Convention included -- to pull a 1.3 rating, according to the Hollywood Reporter (admittedly, the RNC does air on a lot more channels).
Fox News came closest, with a 1.2 adults rating in that same time period.
On the broadcast networks, Honey Boo Boo bested ABC and CBS' demo showing for the RNC combined and topped NBC by two tenths of a point.
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is dominating its parent series. Toddlers and Tiaras raked in only 1.6 million viewers and a .6 adult rating among the demo. Even Honey Boo Boo's encore showing tops that, with 1.8 million viewers and a .8 adult rating.
Okay. Why? I don't understand this phenomenon. Why are people so drawn to this crap? We cover it, but I'll be damned if I'm ever going to watch it.
