Jake and the Never Land Pirates could be considered one of Disney’s breakout hits for toddlers this year. The new show welcomes another big guest star to its latest season. If Sharon Osbourne, Josh Duhamel and Lisa Loeb weren't enough excitement for the Disney Junior cartoon, comedic actor David Arquette is set to return to the Disney Channel series.
On and off during the first season of the show, Arquette played double duty with Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of Jake’s trusty parrot side kick, Skully. The latest installment of Jake and the Never Land Pirates will appropriately premiere on International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept. 19) at 8p/7c.
In the full-length episode, "Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Jack Saves Bucky," Peter Pan returns to Never Land to attempt to win back the crew's ship. Before this episode Peter and his crew lost a race against Captain Hook, losing Bucky their friend and home on the water.
The same day as the full-length episode airs, short-form series "Playing With Skully" will also air with a similar theme during the Disney Junior programming block on Disney Channel. Leading up to the adventure, Jake will ask viewers to help lookout parrot Skully solve pirate problems throughout the day on Disney and Disney Junior. Arquette will appear on the show to voice Skully.
Jake and the Never Land Pirates is one of Disney's most successful shows for toddlers and continues to grow in popularity. It’s currently ranked as the most viewed show for Disney’s two to five year old audience.
