Remember the good old days when celebrities views weren't known to the world? Me either, but I like to pretend. Nowadays, Twitter and social media have opened up our access to what our favorite entertainers think, for better and for worse.
Today's Twitter battle comes to us from 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin. Apparently Baldwin isn't too happy with ol' Hank Williams Jr., the 63-year-old country singer who commented at the Stockyards Music Festival in Texas over the weekend that "We've got a Muslim for a president who hates cowboys, hates cowgirls, hates fishing, hates farming, loves gays and we hate him!"
Baldwin reacted furiously to Williams. "If Hank Williams Jr. wasn't such a pathetic, wheezing fossil, I'd have a talk with him," he tweeted.
He followed it up with another tweet, where he said that "I think we need to call Hank Williams Jr. what he is ... A broken-down, senile, racist coot."
So, no 30 Rock cameo for Hank?
I have to admit, I was unaware Obama hated cowgirls. How is such a thing possible?

Williams' has gotten in hot water in the past for politically charged comments, such as when he compared Obama to Adolph Hitler on Fox & Friends last year. His comments cost him his gig as the opening singer to Monday Night Football.
On a new heading: Alec is challenging the false equivalency, that most of the entertainment press seems to embrace, and simply calling out this racist old coot for what he is. He, Chuck Norris and those so aligned can no longer imagine they're immune from criticism for spouting their racist old cootisms. Additional news for Hank: the Confederacy lost, but since we were a little too polite about it, we've failed to say, "Shut up and sit down, redneck."
Also agreed. And, does anyone actually care about either of them?
Now, that cowgirl, OTOH :-)
Agreed. Neither guy is doing himself any favors.
