ROUND 1: FIGHT!
Lisa Simpson has had many rivals in school over the years, but they've usually been fellow students at Springfield Elementary. This season, Lisa will not only go head to head with an adult, but with one of her own teachers.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the immoral instructor will be played by "Mean Girls" and "30 Rock" star Tina Fey, who surprisingly enough has never appeared on the The Simpsons before. I could have sworn that the former SNL head writer and the FOX animated institution had crossed paths before, but some Google searches internet research tells me that this upcoming episode will be Fey's first ever trip to Springfield, ________.
Fey's character is named Ms. Cantwell, a substitute that is warm and nice to all the other students, but seems to despise Lisa for some unexplained reason. Her bullying tactics include giving Lisa an undeserved B while giving Ralph Wiggum an A on the same assignment, and :gasp: taking Lisa's books out of her "reading kangaroo" and putting them in other students' marsupial-shaped book repositories. Oh the humanity! Won't somebody please think of the Joeys!
The episode in question, entitled "Black-Eyed, Please", is scheduled to air next spring, as part of what will be the show's 24th season. Meanwhile, the seventh and final season of Fey's sitcom 30 Rock premieres on October 4th.
