Here's hoping these babies don't come out vampires, demonically possessed, werewolves, witches, or with terrible imitation southern accents.
True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer welcomed two twin children into the world on Tuesday, it was announced. The twins, whose genders have not yet been revealed, were born a few weeks prematurely but were in perfectly good health, according to reps for the couple.
Paquin, 30, and Moyer, 42, have been married since August 2010. The two met while filming True Blood, in which they play the show's two lead characters: Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton, respectively. Due to their commitments to the series, which ended its fifth season last month, the couple timed the pregnancy so as not to interfere with any of the HBO drama's filming schedules. However, it was recently announced that season 6 had been downsized to t10 episodes, from the usual order of 12, partially to accommodate the new parents (and also because of budgetary reasons).
A statement from the couples' reps noted that Paquin and Moyer were, of course, "overjoyed."
Of course, on True Blood, the relationship between their characters on True Blood is anything but joyful. The fifth season finale ended with Bill undergoing a transformation into an evil being bent on destroying humanity, part of the downward spiral that followed after Sookie broke off her relationship with him and moved on with Eric, and later Alcide (Joe Manganiello).
Congratulations to the couple, and here's wishing them good luck to the many sleepless nights in their future. Moyer recently commented that he and Paquin were on different sleep schedules due to their separate shooting times for True Blood. Looks like not much is going to change.
True Blood season 6 will premiere in summer 2013.
