Justified Season 4 Premiere Gets Title, Synopsis

While it didn't quite manage to reach the peaks of its stellar second season, Justified remained one of the best shows on television with this year's season 3, which saw U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) going up against the deranged mobster Robert Quarles (Neal McDonough), all of which came to a head in the disarming season finale, "Slaughterhouse."

It's been five long months since that confrontation took place, and, as well all Justified hiatuses, the wait has been killer. The show's fourth season, slated to return early next year, is currently in production, though, and we're finally getting some clue as to what the new season is about. In fact, with Tuesday came some of the most significant revelations about the fourth season we've gotten so far: namely, the premiere episode title and synopsis.

The premiere is titled "Hole in the Wall," it has been revealed, along with a short synopsis, which states: "Raylan turns to affable but inexperienced Constable Bob for help securing a bail jumper from Tennessee."

It sounds like a pretty self-contained episode, but, knowing Justified, it'll probably serve to plant the seeds of a season-long arc. We still don't know who this season's big bad is, after all, and it certainly might be this bail jumper -- or someone with whom that bail jumper is connected.

Constable Bob, meanwhile, sounds in name like a replacement for Trooper Tom Bergen, the officer who was killed by Raylan's father Arlo at the end of season 3 (though he was under the impression that Trooper Tom was Raylan when he shot him).

Filming for Justified's fourth season begins October 10, meaning that we'll probably be looking at a big influx of Justified news coming down the pike pretty soon. We'll keep you posted on any Harlan County developments we might run across.

Justified season 4 will kick off with "Hole in the Wall" early next year.

Hey, I'm the same guy with the theory. I remembered something, cable station only have 1/4 to 1/2 the budget that NBC, CBS, FOX, and ABC has, thereforre typically only written for short seasons. Timothy Olyphant (forgive me if I spell his name wrong) is a great actor, has his quiet yet kick-ass voice (which the name Timothy would only fit), and I think he is perfect for the part. Also, Justified would never be able to make it on FOX or any other network station due to the amount of drug referances that's on it. Sex or Language displayed would be perfect in today's world but network stations still try to shun off on drug referances (even though shows now are starting to get bolder such as (Two and a Half Men and others I am sure even though I can't think of the show's name. With that being said, Justified wouldn't be Justifed without those drug referances however, would still be a terrific show had Raylon just gone after other crime styles, forms, and/or catagories.

A theory is all I can offer you. I think this show has the potential to make it on Fox rather than FX and create full seasons. However, by allowing only 12-13 episodes, the seasons can double. A typical major network series lasts 8 seasons (10 if it is a really good show that everyone loves). This show has the potential to hit 16-20 seasons which is what I feel is trying to be accomplished!

love this show, but the short season is a pain. But most of these cable shows have short seasons. Not sure exactly why, anyone have the real reason?

BEST show on TV,hands down! We want more! Have NEVER missed an episode! Why only 13 episodes for the BEST show on tv?! I don't get it. Finally a show WORTH watching instead of all that reality crap! Someone at the top has to do something to get this show MORE episodes! Or your going to be fired! Raylan shoot to kill if your not renewed for 50 more seasons! Keep up the awesome work! I can hardly wait!! For some reason the time seems to be really dragging this year, for the wait of season 4 to begin. "LOVE THIS SHOW!!" Just wish it was possible for the show to be on more than 13 episodes.
