A&E appears set to spend another year in the swamp. On the back of strong cable ratings, the network has reportedly renewed crime procedural "The Glades" for a fourth season.

The series stars Aussie Matt Passmore as Detective Jim Longworth, homicide investigator with a keen mind for punching holes in murderous plots. We can all look forward to another season of obscene product placement -- I am well aware that other shows do plenty of this, but it's usually subtle enough that I can not notice. In the three episodes of "The Glades" that I've seen, the product placement was about as subtle as a 20-pound dumbbell getting dropped on my toes. However, this is a cross I'm willing to bear, however, for a guarantee of more Kiele Sanchez on my television. Her character's relationship with Passmore's Longworth has certainly been one of the highlights of the series so far.
Anyway, the procedural's third season averaged 4.1 million viewers, and is a strong series to continue to build original content around. With "Bates Motel" and Michael Bay's "Occult" series in the works, A&E will need as much dependable content as possible. "The Glades"' fourth season will likely air in 2013 paired with the Katee Sackhoff series "Longmire."
Now let's all enjoy some more Kiele Sanchez...
