This is happening, people. Some of us denied it would happen. Some of us prepared for it. In news that can only be taken as a clear terrorist threat against freedom and all we hold dear, Deadline reports that the "Entourage" movie has a script (almost) and is a definite go for future release.
The series ended its run on HBO last year with Jeremy Piven's Ari retired but enticed by some guy into becoming the head of a studio. Vince was married to Some Girl and his friends were doing things. Creator Doug Ellin told Deadline that the screenplay will be finished Sunday and that producers Mark Wahlberg and Steven Levinson are eager to move forward.
The most shocking news is that this script took a year to write and yet will probably be some variation of:
-Vince is doing a movie
-Turtle and Johnny are useless
-Eric does something boring
-Some problem threatens to delay Vince's movie
-The problem is easily overcome, the movie proceeds, Vince and Co. continue their hedonistic lifestyle
-Ari continues yelling
However, Ellin explained the writing process was delayed by first needing time off after the series wrapped and also due to other series in development with HBO.
The script picks up six months after the series ended. Ellin said, “There are interesting developments about Ari as a studio head, and that’s still the first page for me. But foremost is the friendship between the guys who are still hanging out and going to fun parties, and it continues with the same characters."
Well, thank God, I was worried they had perhaps developed in some way.
