In case you were worried that winter controlled the market for impending thematic events, worry not! In a new poster for season 2 of ABC's fantasy drama series Once Upon a Time, we are promised that "Magic Is Coming," too.
The new poster for the popular show's sophomore season features Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) standing in the streets of Storybrooke wielding a pretty scary-looking sword as the purple fog -- signs of magic returning to the town after the breaking of the curse -- starts rolling down main street. It's a rather distinctive, striking image, and to be honest, I really like it quite a bit.
The second season premiere, "Broken," will focus on the sudden return of the magic to Storybrooke. "With the curse broken, the residents of Storybrooke remember their lives in the Enchanted Forest and fantasy and reality begin to merge," the official episode synopsis says. "However, they are not transported home. Mr. Gold has introduced magic back into Storybrooke to gain the upper hand against Regina."
The episode will also include some elements of flashbacks to the fantasy world. "In the Enchanted Forest, Prince Phillip awakens Aurora and discovers that his companion Mulan must face a deadly foe."
The season will also incorporate elements from Peter Pan (including new villain Captain Hook) and Arthurian Legend (episode 3, "Lady of the Lake," will contain elements from King Arthur's story).
Once Upon a Time season 2 will premiere Sunday, September 30 at 8/7c with the season premiere episode "Broken."
