Sally Struthers arrested

Sally Struthers, who was unavoidable in the '80s and '90s with her Christian Children's Fund infomercial, was arrested earlier today in Maine for driving under the influence, People reported.

The 65-year-old Struthers, who played Gloria on All in the Family, was pulled over at 12:20 a.m. on Route 1 in Ogunquit, Maine, which is approximately 40 miles south of Portland.

She was taken to the police station, where she had her mug shot taken and was charged with  operating under the influence, which is only a misdemeanor.

She was released on $160 cash bail and a court date has been set for December.

Struthers has been starring as Roz in the musical 9 to 5 at the Oguinquit Playhouse in Maine.

"Sally is working and she is fine and she loves The Ogunquit Playhouse and her yearly time in Ogunquit. We deny these charges," her rep said.

What is there to deny, really? She either did it or she didn't. Why would they arrest her if she was innocent?

Struthers has appeared in 9 to 5 before. She starred in the TV adaption of the movie of it, on which the musical is also based.

She also played Babette on Gilmore Girls.

Oh right, publicists NEVER lie for their clients.

Also, as you quoted me, She either did it or she didn't. Lots of people are taken to the police station for drunk driving or a lesser related charge and then in fact charged when they are actually innocent, right?

I'm sorry to offend your delicate sensitivities, Mr. Struthers.

"What is there to deny, really? She either did it or she didn't. Why would they arrest her if she was innocent?" Well, Innocent until PROVEN guilty still works here in the United States. Will you be moving your obviously un-American butt back to Iraq or Egypt soon, then? Can't be soon enough. Putz. And no, not a huge fan of Struthers--she always got on my nerves. But not half as much as a so-called press that is supposed to report the news in an unbiased fashion, but instead arrogantly sets itself up as judge, jury and executioner. You ought to be FIRED--and then arrested for impersonating a journalist of ANY kind. Don't worry, though. Be happy to give you the same kind of fair treatment you enjoy giving to those you write about. What a punk excuse for a writer. Where did they fing you, scribbling on some bus depot men's room wall? Pathetic.
