The Walking Dead Season 3: New Trailer Promises Plenty of Zombie Killin'
The Walking Dead will return for its third season in exactly one month, and the series promises to be more violent, gritty, and gruesome than ever. And that's saying something, considering that the second half of the AMC zombie drama's second season featured two main character deaths, the cause of one of which was disembowelment.
But in the show's third season, the survivors will have to contend with two major obstacles. First, there's the prison glimpsed in the final moments of the season 2 finale. The season 3 premiere, "Seed," will see the survivors looking to use the prison as shelter from the zombie hordes -- though there's a problem there: the prison is filled with zombies. That requires a little bit of house cleaning, as a new promo for the season reveals. The group journeys into the prison and begins dispatching zombies -- though once they get inside the prison itself, that job's going to be much harder, and much scarier.
Meanwhile, adept zombie dispatchers Michonne and Andrea are dealing with another situation entirely. Cut off from the group, the two are picked up -- or captured -- by a group of people from Woodbury, a settlement that has been established since the zombie apocalypse. It's lead by the congenial Governor (David Morrissey), though in the final shot from this trailer, it's revealed that he does have a bit of a violent side. And as readers of the comic book know, the Governor's violent side is a force to be reckoned with.
You can check out the promo, which is littered with plenty of new footage from the season, below.
The Walking Dead season 3 will premiere Sunday, October 14 at 9/8c on AMC with the episode "Seed." Will you be tuning in?
