Fox’s “New Girl” is bringing in some big names to play Jess’ parents.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner will appear on the Thanksgiving episode of the show, where they will play Zooey Deschanel’s character’s mom and dad. In the episode Jess invites the divorced couple over to attempt a reunion, “Parent Trap”-style.
Rob Riggle will also make his debut in that episode as Schmidt’s (Max Greenfield) cousin.
Curtis recently had a guest arc on “NCIS.” She has appeared in many major films, including “Trading Places,” “True Lies” and the Lindsay Lohan version of “Freaky Friday.” Reiner’s, who first came to prominence as Michael “Meathead” Stivic in “All in the Family,” last TV appearance was on “30 Rock” in 2010. He has had a successful career as a writer, producer and director as well.
Carla Gugino will also have a three-episode arc this season as Schmidt’s new boss. Schmidt and Gugino’s character reportedly have a kinky, “Fifty Shades of Grey”- like relationship. Schmidt also had a fling with his boss(played by Gillian Vigman) last season.
Gugino recently appeared on “Political Animals” on USA. She also had roles on HBO’s “Entourage” and “Californication” in recent years.
“New Girl’s” season premiere is Sept. 25 on Fox, with two new episodes at 8 and 9 p.m., respectively.
