Parenthood returned this week showing just how much one family can really go through. In the season premiere a major character said goodbye as Haddie Braverman headed off to college. Parents Adam and Christina are not dealing so well with their “empty nest,” despite having a baby and 10-year-old Max at home still. The good news is fans can expect Haddie (Sarah Ramos) to return in future episodes this season!
“In terms of where Haddie was going to college, we wanted to make the show feel as realistic as possible,” executive producer Jason Katims told Entertainment Weekly. “As much as we love Sarah Ramos and would want her to be in every episode we felt that the reality would be this was a girl who goes away to college. However, we will definitely see Haddie again this season — sooner rather than later as a family crisis throws a curveball at her in her first semester at college.”
Aside from a return of Haddie, fans can expect a number of other changes and conflicts in the Braverman family. One way Christina wants to fill the hole in her home where Haddie belongs is getting a family dog. However, a puppy turns out to be more trouble than anything. Drew also makes a major change as his first girlfriend, Amy, breaks up with him. It is Sarah’s new boss who helps Drew through the pain, winning over Sarah in the process.
Goodbye Mark, hello Ray Romano? Parenthood airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
