A bit of TV royalty might be gracing us with her presence once again. TV Guide reported that Carol Burnett may be heading to ABC's Malibu Country.
"We are creating a role for Carol that she has actively expressed interest in," said executive producer Kevin Abbott.
Burnett would play the mom to Sara Rue's Kim, whose real-life pregnancy threw Abbott for a loop (she's due early next year).
"We did not plan for this, so we are reassessing our story lines to work it in," he added.
If she comes in, Burnett would butt heads with Kenny Powers' momma, Lily Tomlim. Tomlim plays Reba McEntire's mother Lillie Mae, who is a giant pot-head. Tomlin and Burnett have a long history.
According to Tomlin, she she first met Burnett, "when I was on Laugh-In and she came out of a bathroom stall and said, 'Oh, Lily.' I was just dumbfounded that she even knew who I was, and we've been friends ever since."
Burnett, who is 79 years old, has kept a low profile in recent years. She has appeared sporadically, with an appearance on Glee a few years ago her last part.
Her appearance would be a great thing. Burnett is one of the most decorated actresses in TV history and her Carol Burnett Show aired on CBS for more than a decade.
