In a pairing that seemingly goes together like peanut butter and mayonnaise, The Hollywood Reporter today leaked that hip-hop producer/actor/entrepreneur Diddy (aka Sean Combs) will appear in a guest role on FX's "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia."
No word on the specifics of Combs' role, but if I had to speculate I would say he's going to take a role that someone else has already played and made their own, and then put his own spin on it, maybe add a unique bassline or dance in the rain or somesuch. I'd love to see his take on Lil' Kevin! Given that "Sunny" takes place in the lovably seedy dive bar Paddy's Pub, I also would not be surprised to see some product placement of Combs' Ciroc vodka.
In all honesty, Combs has tackled acting with greater success than his musical endeavors. From theater roles like "A Raisin In The Sun" to small film roles in "Monster's Ball," "Get Him To The Greek," and "Made," the hip-hop mogul has really left his mark in the acting realm.
No doubt the "Sunny" cast will find a prime role for Combs to fill for this, it's upcoming 8th season, set to debut on Thursday, October 11th.
