It has been a cruel summer to fans of Fox’s “New Girl,” who can’t get enough Schmidtisms.
However, there is hope- a 256-page book called “The Douche Journals: The Definitive Account of One Man’s Genius” was released today from It Books and Twentieth Century Fox.
A running joke on the series is that the roommates have a Douchebag Jar, and when a Schmidtism is offered up, there is a price to be paid.
The Hollywood Reporter scored an advanced look at the book, including the page above.
Schmidt’s (played by Max Greenfield) roommate Nick Miller (who is played by Jake Johnson) also wrote the forward.
“New Girl’s” season premiere is Sept. 25 on Fox, with two new episodes at 8 and 9 p.m., respectively.
A page date April 7, 2006 entitled “Infraction 35,” with the location of the kitchen on a sex break reads “In the space program of my love life, we are currently at ‘T-Minus Refractory Period.’” That cost Schmidt a fine of $34 U.S.
Another page lists the occasion as “Nick asks ‘You’re going to have sex with that cross-eyed Jet Blue flight attendant again?” Schmidt replies “She’s my roast corn at a street fair. 364 days a year I forget she exists, but when the Fourth of July comes, no price is too steep.”
