Canadian women compete, in typical polite Canadian way

Canadian women

Rival Canadian broadcast stations CBC and Citytv are going to be going head-to-head against each other with reality TV competition series that give young women the chance to win over the hearts and minds of their fellow Canucks.

CBC will be airing Over the Rainbow, a talent competition where 10 Canadian women will try their best to win the right to wear the famed ruby slippers in Andrew Lloyd Webber's upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz.

“These 10 girls, we've become so close. There's not really been any drama between any of us, so we're happy for one another, we understand what is going to happen tonight," Colleen Furlan, one of the Canadian Over the Rainbow contestants, said.

Silly Canadian woman. The way to win reality competitions is through backstabbing and being sneaky!

Citytv will be airing The Bachelor Canada, in which bachelorettes vie to win the heart of Brad Smith.

Contestants so far include  Amber, a strip club server from Winnipeg (this means she is a rough broad) with a tattoo on her right foot and who loves riding her motorcycle, against Nicole an optician who volunteers at the local children’s’ hospital. Gee, whom would you rather bring home to mom in that circumstance?

Other cast members include a pastor who started her own non-profit camp for kids, a makeup artist with a flower tattoo on her butt and another on her left foot, and a voluptuous Playboy model. It seems like Citytv went to the opposite ends of the spectrum with this cast.

The series is being shot on a sprawling, west coast mansion with its own hot tubs and hangouts, in British Columbia.
