It worked for USA’s “Burn Notice;” why not “Royal Pains?”
The cable network is prepping a two-hour telefilm centered on the upcoming wedding between Evan (played by Paulo Costanzo) and Paige (played by Brooke D’Orsay). It will be titled “Off-Season Greetings.”
The special will have flashbacks, feature an unexpected snowstorm and also see the return of Jill Casey (played by Jill Flint). The telefilm will also show the Hamptons, where the medical drama is set, in winter for the first time. It will take place many months following the summer finale.
The flashbacks will reveal secrets from the past, such as the backstory of Hank (played by Mark Feuerstein) and Evan before they moved to the East Coast and founded HankMed. Hank’s first love will also be played by Emma Caulfield.
Andrew Lenchewski and Michael Rauch write and executive produce “The Royal Pains,” while Paul Frank and Rich Frank executive produce with Jeff Krawtinetz and Connie Burge. For the telefilm, Carol Flint, Jon Sherman, Kerry Orent and Jack Bernstein will co-executive produce.
A stand-alone “Burn Notice” telefilm entitled “The Fall of Sam Axe” was also aired and featured Bruce Campbell.
“Royal Pains’” “Off-Season Greetings” will air Sunday, Dec. 16, at 9 p.m.
