Drama is never missing at “The X Factor,” even during the finale. Last night behind-the-scenes drama wasn’t caused by a judge or contestant, instead a runaway stair raiser caused major problems.
While Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik fought for a $5 million recording contract, three stagehands were attacked by the large piece of machinery. Just as 50 Cent was about to take stage with Astro, the stair riser took life and knocked over a crew member just before hitting two other crew members in the head.
According to sources, paramedics arrived immediately to treat the crew members at CBS Television City, treating the stage crews a mere feet from the stage and live show. The Hollywood Reporter said that one crew member told everyone he was fine while holding ice on his head. He exclaimed in disbelief, "on the f--king last night of the show!" As a precautionary measure the three crew members were treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and released.
This is just one of many mishaps found throughout the first season of “The X Factor.” Though most drama happens in front of the camera, there’s been plenty of it! Tears from Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, while Simon Cowell made a bad decision cutting the eventual winner from the competition after boot camp. Astro ran his mouth after dropping to the bottom two, while Drew stood up for herself against her biggest critic, L.A. Reid. Who would think that such a physically dangerous situation was unraveling backstage as we sat, biting our nails waiting to find out the winner!
