E! may prevent Khloe Kardashian from hosting 'X-Factor'

The E! Network does not want one of its biggest stars taking time away from her reality family.

Khloe Kardshian has been in the running to host Fox’s “X Factor,” but E! does not want to give her the green light. The Kardashians’ contract with the network reportedly includes exclusivity.

Time is apparently the key factor, as in the network is concerned about the time Kardashian would have to spend promoting “X-Factor,” and do not want it to cut into her time on her reality show.

A source involved with the negotiations told TMZ “I wouldn’t bet my house on it,” referring to an agreement being reached.

Kardashian and her ginormous family first appeared on the network in “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Based on the confounding popularity of that show, she then appeared in spin-offs “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” and “Khloe & Lamar,” with her husband NBA star Lamar Odom. She has also appeared on Donald Trump’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” on NBC.

TMZ said Mario Lopez of “Saved by the Bell” fame is the second choice if Kardashian is not available. Lopez has also been rumored to be co-hosting the show with noted music expert Kardashian.
