ABC revealed the next star of its hit reality TV series, The Bachelor today, and it is a familiar face to veteran viewers of the series.
Sean Lowe, who finished in third place during Emily Maynard's season of the Bachelorette, will be the object of desire this go around. Lowe, a tall, blonde 28-year-old Dallas entrepreneur and businessperson, was sent packing by Maynard in the final three, as she elected to choose between Arie and Jef.
“I was shocked,” Lowe said. “I had the first date of the week. The rest of the week, I spent just hanging out on the beach waiting for the rose ceremony. That whole time I was thinking about our life together, and how I was going to be a father.”
Lowe was well regarded during his run, for his positive attitude, sweet personality and sense of humor. It took him a while to get over his heartbreak from the Bachelorette.
“But after several weeks, I realized that my wife is not going to have any doubts that I’m the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Emily obviously had doubts, and that’s OK,” he says.
It was rumored that Olympian Ryan Lochte was going to be the Bachelor, but apparently that did not work out. The 17th season of The Bachelor has already begun filming, and will air in January 2013.
Was this a good choice?
