South Park: Sneak Peek of 'Honey Boo Boo' Parody Episode

South Park has always been a series to lambast current pop culture. Last week's midseason premiere episode, "Sarcastaball" (which aired September 26), poked fun at September 24's NFL replacement refs controversy. Wednesday's episode, "Raising the Bar," will poke fun at another recent pop cultural development: Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

The TLC reality series has been the focus of controversy (and general revile) from television critics and other online commentators. It focuses on seven-year-old pageant contestant Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her lower-class Georgia family. The show has been criticized for being potentially exploitative of the Thompson family, as well as for its generally repulsive content.

You can bet that South Park is going to be attacking Honey Boo Boo for all its worth. Here's the synopsis for the episode: "Cartman comes to accept his obesity, and decides that using a scooter for transportation is his right, an attitude embraced by others as well. He also discovers that he has a rival in reality television personality and pageant participant Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson."

If Honey Boo Boo is compared to Cartman in this episode, you can bet it's going to be scathing.

Check out a clip from "Raising the Bar" below, which sees Honey Boo Boo and her dead-eyed mother picking out a pig.

South Park will air "Raising the Bar," Wednesday, October 3, on Comedy Central.

We all knew South Park was going to rip on... I'm not even going to dignify the show by saying its dumbass title. But, yeah, it was an inevitability. Can't wait to see how this latest abomination reality TV has offered is skewered. Their take on Jersey Shore was delicious. Hope this hits the same high marks.
