Sparks are already firing as egos clash at the "American Idol" auditions. TMZ has acquired grainy and awful cellphone video of a clash between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, in which Minaj threatened to "knock out" Carey.
This comes after Minaj and Carey had both told reporters that rumors of a feud already breaking out between the two after just one day of auditions were untrue.
In the cellphone footage, we see Minaj in the midst of a tirade as Keith Urban sits between the two feuding females, throwing his hands up in surrender. The audio is difficult to understand (did I mention it's grainy, awful cellphone video?), but TMZ posted several snippets they were able to make out including Minaj yelling, " I told them I'm not f**kin' putting up with her f**king highness over there... I'm not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday.
It had to happen sooner or later, and really seems like the only reason that flavor of the week Minaj was even brought on board the show. I mean, really, what additional star power does she bring to the show that a pop icon like Mariah Carey doesn't? What credibility does she lend to judging a singing competition? This is Fox amping doing what they can to amp up the drama of their sagging reality show, but nothing says we can't find it thoroughly entertaining.
The question remains: is this feud authentic, reality TV 101, or a little mix of both? Check out the crummy looking footage at TMZ.
