Deadshot set to shoot at CW's Arrow

DeadshotNext Wednesday is the premiere of The CW's new series, Arrow (based on DC Comics' Green Arrow, a lesser caliber member of the Justice League). But the network has unveiled images of Deadshot, one of the villains that Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) will be going up against.

Deadshot, who will be played by Michael Rowe, is an iconic assassin who claims that he has never missed a shot (if you aren't familiar with DC Comics, picture Marvel's Bullseye). In the third episode, entitled Lone Gunman, Deadshot shows up to torment Mr. Queen.

Oliver will face off against China White (Kelly Hu) in the second episode. The show's producers, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, intend to introduce many elements from DC's history, including characters such as Deathstroke (another nasty assassin) and Hustress (most recently, a super heroine), as well as as well as Easter eggs like the Big Belly Burger food chain, to win over the fan boys.

Deadshot appeared in Smallville and was played by Bradley Stryer. He has appeared in the cartoon Justice League, voiced by Michael Rosenbaum and on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, voiced by Tom Kenny. The character also appeared in the video game Batman: Arkham City in a side mission. In the comics, Deadshot was a member of the Secret Six for a few years (an awesome comic book) along with Bane, who you may know from this summer's The Dark Knight Rises film.

Arrow premieres Wed., Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. Expect to see Deadshot Oct. 24.
