Lucy Lawless Dishes on 'Parks & Rec' Role

Ron Swanson: libertarian, lover of meat, soon-to-be boyfriend to "Spartacus" and "Xena" alum Lucy Lawless. With the actress' character making her recurring debut on tonight's episode, IGN had a chance to quiz the Warrior Princess about what we can expect to see.

As we have reported earlier, Lawless will portray a love interest for the woodwork-loving, government-hating man's man Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman). The actress says that the catalyst that brings the two together is Chris Pratt's Andy, who ignites a spark between his mentor and the single mother.

Early descriptions of Lawless' character make her sound as if she'll give as good as she gets from the gruff but lovable Swanson. "She is, in Ron’s words, a sharp, capable woman. At some point, he runs afoul of her, and basically she threatens to feed him his own mustache. I’m not sure how that’s done, but I love the sound of it! So we’ll see if that scares him off," Lawless jokes.

However, don't go in expecting Tammy Three, as the actress continues, "I don’t think she’s another Tammy, which was extremely exciting to me. They have something different in mind... They’re allowing [Ron] to have something he’s never had before, which is a real grownup relationship."
