Fans of the "The X-Files" rejoice! Chris Carter is making his long-awaited return to television with a new supernatural drama series entitled "The After," partnering with production company Georgeville TV.
Not many details are available about "The After," other than that the new series will blend Carter's genre strengths of supernatural science-fiction and suspense, revolving around the aftermath of a mysterious, unexplained event.
"This is going to be a fantastic ride - one that only (Carter) could conceive - and the secrets, twists, and turns are a fan's dream," said Georgeville CEO Marc Rosen. "Chris has woven his mythology magic within a very human, grounded story about the moment when we realize all of our worst fears about the world and its future."
Georgeville TV has several exciting new projects in the works, including a midseason NBC swashbuckling drama "Crossbones," the remake of cult UK science-fiction series "Blake's 7" from director Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale," "Green Lantern") for SyFy, a pandemic thriller from J. Michael Straczynski ("Babylon 5"), and the first television venture from The Wachowski Brothers ("The Matrix" trilogy) entitled "Sense8." The latest deal with Carter seeks to continue a trend of developing exciting new series from proven creators.
"Chris Carter's vision has impacted the global television business for 20 years with 'The X-Files' and being part of his latest big-budget project is a tremendous honor," Philip said.
