Holy crap, a Romney got a job (Humor people. Put down the pitchforks.)!
Ann Romney, the wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt (ens) Romney will fill in for Robin Roberts on Good Morning American on October 10. Various famous figures have stepped up, as Roberts fights cancer and recovers from surgery.
Romney was apparently booked on the show during the summer. This news comes after the first presidential debate, where Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama went one-on-one. Ann will co-host alongside George Stephanopoulos and correspondents Lara Spencer, Josh Elliott and Sam Champion.
Other announced guest stars include Oprah Winfrey, Stephen Colbert, Barbara Walters, Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and the cast of Modern Family. Jessica Simpson filled in on September 11.
First Lady Michelle Obama will also apparently be co-hosting, when she can find an opening in her schedule.
This is another chance for both parties to get their messages out. Both women are likable and can deliver a softer, yet effective, message in a non-traditional outlet.
Romney reached out to Roberts on Twitter, urging her to stay strong.
"Keep on fighting," she wrote. "We all stand with you!"
On Sept. 20, Roberts had a bone marrow transplant. Her sister Sally-Ann Roberts was her donor. She also beat breast cancer five years ago, but earlier this year learned she had myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a rare blood disease that can be caused by chemotherapy.
"I will be back, you know," Roberts said during her farewell broadcast. "This is just see you later. See you soon. I will get back as fast as I can."
