Primetime Ratings, Saturday, 10/6/12 & Sunday, 10/7/12

666 Park Avenue

Notes: The continually boring Saturday night ratings saw ABC's College Football broadcast win in both the demos and total viewer races.

NBC won Sunday in both the demos and total viewers, on the back of Sunday Night Football, as per usual. The Simpsons' latest Treehouse Of Horror special dropped a good amount from last week's premiere. The season premiere of The Cleveland Show rose from last year's debut. Bob's Burgers dropped a tad from last week, while Family Guy went up a bit, as did American Dad.

Once Upon A Time took a pretty big hit in week two, although its demos still bested every other show that wasn't football. Revenge also took a big hit from last week, which isn't a great sign for the success of season two. 666 Park Avenue also fell even further from its already bad series premiere numbers. In short, ABC had a bad night indeed.

Over on the Eye, 60 Minutes went up, while The Amazing Race came in even with last week. The Good Wife pulled down its lowest numbers ever for a fall telecast. The Mentalist continues to make CBS regret the decision to move it to Sunday, as the show hit a series low. Not a great night for CBS either.

Honestly, the NFL's dominance of Sunday night is really starting to actively crush the other network's scripted programming, to the point where I'm starting to wonder why anyone even bothers programming against it. While sports outdrawing everything else certainly isn't a new phenomenon, every single major Sunday night show other than football is way down this year, in a way that makes the numbers for fall 2010 and 2011 look amazing by comparison.

And of course, rather than moving their successful shows like The Mentalist back to another day whree they will perform better, the network will simply cancel them........

How stupid are they?  They had to know that moving a show to a different night up against a whole list of other popular shows, then starting it at 10:30PM would be disaster..........I could have told them that........
