For the second year in a row, The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco will host the People's Choice Awards on CBS in January.
Previously the host of the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, Cuoco made her PCA debut as host of this year's show and performed admirably, snapping Queen Latifah's streak of five straight years as master of ceremonies. "It's an honor to return as host of the 2013 People's Choice Awards and kick off awards season with one of the most fun events of the year," said Cuoco.
Also returning as executive producer is another familiar CBS face, Survivor producer Mark Burnett. "Kaley is such an engaging performer who brings an undeniable energy and passion to our stage," Burnett said. "There is no doubt she will be a key part of what makes this year's show a can't miss event."
In the past, CBS has chosen some of its biggest primetime players to host awards shows that air on the network, including Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother hosting the Tony Awards and LL Cool J of NCIS: Los Angeles emceeing the Grammy Awards as well as the nomination specials.
Cuoco plays Penny on the Eye's smash hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which took home the 2012 PCA prize for Favorite Television Comedy, and previously starred in ABC's 8 Simple Rules, winner of the 2003 award for Favorite New TV Comedy.
Honoring music, film, and television, the annual People's Choice Awards is the only awards show where fans determine everything, from the categories and the nominees to the winners of each award. From October 23 until November 2, fans will be able to narrow down a selection of nominees in over 40 categories by visiting the PCA website.
The 2013 edition of the People's Choice Awards will air live on CBS from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 9.
If we get to vote on which outfit she wears to host the show, I would have to choose this one...
