Confession time: When I was in high school, I had a huge - HUGE - crush on Neve Campbell. I even tuned into Party of Five and, whenever a new Scream movie came out, I was there day one. But those feelings faded away, as did Campbell's career. She ended up on the outside looking in pretty fast.
Could that be changing?
Grey's Anatomy announced that it has signed Campbell to play one of Derek Sheperd's (Patrick Dempsey) siblings. Campbell's guest starting spot is expected to air in December during the ABC shows ninth season.
Campbell, who is currently staring in Encore's 12-part Titanic: Blood and Steel miniseries, will either be playing Kathleen or the mysterious fourth sibling of Sheperd's that has not been named so far.
Caterina Scorsone plays Amelia Shepherd on the spinoff of Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice. And Embeth Davitz has previously appeared as Nancy Shepherd.
Campbell will be joining the show as Derek is getting over the plane crash that killed his best friend Mark (Eric Dane) and sister-in-law Lexie (Chyler Leigh). Will she there to support her brother?
It seems like a good casting choice. Campbell is not the world's best actress, but she isn't the worst either. And she is fairly well known. So why not?
Patrick Dempsey was in Scream 3 playing Neve Campbell's love interest.
