Christie Brinkley to play Jerry’s wife on ‘Parks & Recreation’
Jerry’s wife Gayle will finally appear on “Parks & Recreation.”
Model-actress Christie Brinkley will play the often-mentioned but never seen spouse of Jerry Gergich (played by Jim O’Heir) and mother of Millicent soon on the NBC comedy.
Chris Traeger (played by Rob Lowe) dated Millicent (played by Sarah Wright) last season, to the discomfort of Jerry.
The hapless Jerry (whose name is actually Garry, but he was called Jerry by a high-ranking city employee once and didn’t want to correct him) has often been the butt of jokes at the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Department, so fans of the character should be pleased by his good fortune in love.
Brinkley will appear in upcoming season five episode “Ron and Diane.”
Brinkley first came into prominence as she appeared on the “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit issue cover three consecutive times. She also had a memorable role in the original “National Lampoon’s Vacation” movie.
She has starred in Broadway’s “Chicago” production; appeared on the small screen on “Ugly Betty” and appeared in the 2011 Adam Sandler instant cinematic masterpiece “Jack and Jill.”
“Parks & Recreation” is on NBC Thursdays at 9:30 p.m.
