The star of MTV’s “Teen Wolf” may be exiting the show.
“I’m sad this chapter has ended, but excited for a new one to begin,” Colton Haynes tweeted.
“These past few yrs have been the best of my life,” Haynes wrote. “I’m sad that this chapter has ended, but excited for a new one to begin. Thx for the love.”
The move is reportedly caused by failed contract negotiations. The show’s heads apparently wanted to limit him to 12 of the 24 season three episodes.
MTV issued a statement to “Entertainment Weekly” saying there is “absolutely no truth that Colton is being pushed out or that he, or any cast member, is being replaced.” MTV said “We love Colton and look forward to his returning with the entire cast for season three of Teen Wolf.”
Haynes’ character turned into a werewolf last season on the show after starting the season as a Kanima The Kanima is a shapeshifter, which is a lizard creature.
Haynes has also appeared on the new “Melrose Place,” “CSI: Miami” and in “Transformers.”
“Teen Wolf” has aired for two seasons on MTV. It is an update of the film series from the 1980s, originally starring Michael J. Fox.
