Last week, FOX announced that the second season of its adventure drama Touch would be held off until January. Today it was revealed that long-time character actor David Keith will be guest-starring in an episode when the show starts up again.
Although the sophomore series had been scheduled to return on October 26, the network decided to postpone its Season 2 premiere until early 2013 in favor of new episodes of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. While FOX declined to provide a reason, the restaurant reality show attracts a larger audience than the Kiefer Sutherland vehicle and with the November sweeps period fast approaching, ratings are of the utmost importance.
When it finally does begin, the new season of Touch will move the setting of the show from New York City to Los Angeles and add a few more cast members. In addition to the already announced Maria Bello (ER), Lukas Haas (24), Said Taghmaoui (G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra), and Saxon Sharbino (I Spit On Your Grave 2010), veteran actor Keith David will guest star in one of those new episodes.
He will portray an old friend of Kiefer Sutherland's Martin named Dutch, a grizzled former Navy SEAL. A star of stage and screen, David has appeared in films such as John Carpenter's The Thing, Platoon, Barber Shop, and Requiem For A Dream. He has also lent his booming and distinctive voice to a variety of television projects.
Are you disappointed that you'll have to wait a few more months for the new season of Touch?
