Now here's a bit of news that shouldn't really surprise anyone. Industry insiders have been saying for months that Suits was a virtual lock to be renewed, and today USA made it official. The sophomore legal drama will return next summer with sixteen all new episodes.
For those unfamiliar, Suits stars Patrick J. Adams as self-styled attorney Michael Ross, who impresses his way into a job at a prestigious New York law firm, despite never attending law school. Mike's photographic memory grants him a natural aptitude toward remembering case law and studying evidence, but he's still learning the ropes when it comes to dealing with clients and navigating the corporate law jungle. His growth is helped along by hard-nosed senior partner Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), who brought Mike into the firm and serves as his mentor. Other regular cast members include Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres.
Suits quickly became both a critical and commercial hit for USA following its 2011 debut, with this past August's "summer finale" hitting a new series high of 6.5 million viewers. The show was also the summer's top rated cable show in the key 18-49 demographic. For Suits fans, the future is bright.
Season two of Suits concludes in January, with episodes eleven through sixteen.
Are you glad that more Suits is coming your way?
