Nashville is Fall 2012's best guilty pleasure show. The drama has everything needed for an indulgent hour- backstabbing, catchy music, love and women chasing their dreams.
The show stars Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, an upcoming country star who will stop at nothing to be successful. This includes outshining country veteran Rayna James (Connie Britton). Juliette is prepared to do everything from steal Rayna's producers to turning her band against her.
Some suspect that Panettiere used Taylor Swift for inspiration as the Nashville starlet, but that's not the truth. Panettiere revealed to The Boot that it was American Idol winner Carrie Underwood who she modeled the character after.
“She’s one of those girls that doesn’t do the whole dancing-around-choreography thing but has that stage presence like no other,” Panettiere said. “She can just stand there and be incredibly interesting.”
Hmm.. Underwood has made headlines for a rumored feud with veteran Faith Hill after Hill jokingly made comments after Underwood won a country music award. It's no secret that Underwood is the outcase in the country world because some artists don't feel that she should have been "handed" success like she was. Sure, Underwood didn't sleep her way to the top, but success isn't hard to find when you star on a reality show. Could the entire story maybe be inspired by her story?
