The League is known for one thing- bringing major league football players to TV each week (outside the game of course!). Season four premiered this week, welcoming Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson to kick off the season. He's just one of the various players signed on to help Ruxin, Taco, Kevin, Andre, Jenny and Pete as they fight to avoid the Sacko Bowl.
Despite the big names that have already appeared in the series, co-creator Jeff Schaffer told Cleveland.com that he doesn't get starstruck around actors, but the athletes- that's another story.
"I've worked in Hollywood so long, I'm not in a state of awe when I meet a big star," said Schaffer. "But it's still a tremendous kick whenever we have an athlete appear on the show. That's when I get star-struck."
Despite his shock and fan-side, Schaffer revealed one of his favorite memories with Richardson.
"Trent Richardson was one of the first people I saw after the birth of my child," he said. "He was the first person to give me parenting advice. I said, 'Hey, you have two daughters. What's it like?' "
Perhaps just one of the perks of creating one of FX's most successful comedies to date.
The League airs Thursdays at 10:30/9:30c on FX.
