Fringe's fifth and final season might have hit a bit of a lull with last week's third episode "The Recordist," the season will be back up to full steam, if upcoming episode titles are any indication. The fourth episode, airing October 26, has been given the rather awesome title "The Bullet That Saved the World," while the fifth episode hints at mythological reveals with the title "An Origin Story."
Showrunner J.H. Wyman recently revealed the title of the sixth episode via Twitter, and it's the show's lengthiest yet by quite a bit: "Through the Looking Glass and What Walter Found There."
The reference to the Lewis Carroll book is fairly obvious, but considering that Walter is going to be the one going through the looking glass, it's probably going to involve some LSD. Could this be the episode 19-esque outing that we were told would be in season 5 after all?
It certainly seems like Walter's going to be going through a weird experience in his quest to defeat the Observers, though what exactly that entails remains to be seen. My personal hope is that he makes a return to the alternate universe -- a storyline I have a deep and abiding hope will be realized this year.
What do you think about the title? Seems pretty crazy, no? What do you think the looking glass is, and what do you think Walter will find there?
Fringe's next episode, "The Bullet That Saved the World," will air on Friday, October 26.
