Jimmy Kimmel grew up idolizing David Letterman. As a boy, he wore a Late Night With David Letterman jacket and would celebrate his birthdays with a Late Night cake. When he got his first car, an Isuzu I-Mark, he got an "L8Nite" vanity plate.
"I mean, I'd draw Dave's face on every book cover. I was like a teenage girl in love with him," Kimmel said in 2011.

When he landed his own talk show on ABC - Jimmy Kimmel Live - the first person he wanted as a guest was Letterman. And while Letterman declined, he did send Kimmel a letter - a letter that is now framed in Kimmel's office.
Finally the two funnymen will sit down together on Kimmel's program. Letterman will join Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Tracy Morgan and Stephen Colbert as guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live when the ABC brings his show to his hometown of Brooklyn for one week later this month.
The show will broadcast from the Brooklyn Academy of Music from October 29 - November 2. This coincides with the Brooklyn Nets' inaugural game at the Barclays Center, after moving from Newark at the conclusion of last season. The entire week will be Brooklyn-themed.
What do you think? Will you be tuning in?

p.s. Josh, typo last sentence in first paragraph. "...an "L8Nite"..." should be ..."a "L8Nite"..."
