An “Extra” host and, um, whatever the Kardashians are; one of them, will soon be officially signed on to host “X Factor.”
Mario Lopez has reportedly signed on officially to do the Fox show. Khloe Kardashian’s people and “X Factor” have apparently agreed on everything in the contract, and just need to sign it.
Kardashian and Lopez replace “X Factor” season one host Steve Jones, who along with judges Paula Addul and Nicole Scherzinger were fired in January. Judge and writer Simon Cowell then said he hoped to hire a male judge and a female judge for the next season.
Kardashian, long rumored for the gig, is friends with a female judge, that being Demi Lovato, so that probably helped her cause.
Other than the former “Saved By The Bell” star, Corbin Blue, Kevin Jonas and Kevin McHale were rumored to be in the running for hosting duties.
Karadashian and Lopez screen-tested separately, so they may not have been on camera together yet.
The season two premiere of “X Factor” was Sept. 12. New judges Brittany Speas and Lovato joined Cowell and L.A. Reid at the table. The new hosts are expected to show up when live shows begin later this autumn.
