You ever have those moments where you feel like you're amidst an Orwell novel and the dystopia he envisioned is coming true..? I do--it's election season, so I feel it all the time.
But this bit of news didn't do that for me; this one isn't Orwell... it's more Kurt Vonnegut. truTV is launching a reality series that is a blend of 'American Idol' and 'Fear Factor,' wherein contestants will challenge themselves to hit the high-notes and rock out while completing terrifying and disgusting acts for our viewing pleasure.

The tagline for truTV is "Not Reality. Actuality." The actuality about 'Killer Karaoke' is that for the chance of $10,000 and being on television, contestants will fend off attack dogs or get buried in a bathtub of squirming reptiles--while doing their best Jagger.
But wait! It gets even better!
'Killer Karaoke' is hosted by none other than Steve-O, of 'Jackass' fame on both the small and silver screens. We know he would go through with the challenges (heck, he's done worse than that to sustain his fame) but the man cannot sing worth a can of beans. Presumably, we're going to need some talented judges from the business to handle that portion of 'Killer Karaoke'... though something tells me that truTV isn't going to be able to lure the likes of Simon Cowell to their broadcast.
Steve-O's particular brand of classiness will be on display each and every week on 'Killer Karaoke.' You can see his thoughts on the upcoming broadcast in the clip below.
'Killer Karaoke' will make its debut on truTV as early as November. Mark your calendars!
