Waterloo Road to go on mid-series break with devastating Fire - Spoilers

Waterloo Road began airing it's eighth series in September, which saw the school up roots from Manchester and move to a new academy in Scotland. Alot of the cast moved with the show, but their was also a new intake of pupils and students and over the past 8 episodes we have seen Shane O'Meara's character Connor Mulgrew struggle to control his mum and English teacher, Christine's drinking problem.

Christine is played by EastEnders favourite Laurie Brett who upon hearing that her son is planning on running away with girlfriend, Imogen (played by Kirstie Steele) makes sure her son won't be going anywhere. The tensions finally bubble over and (not for the first time this series) Connor starts a fire, with far-reaching consequences for the rest of the school upon the shows return in early 2013.

The episode in question will air Thursday 25th October 2012. With this weeks episode seeing Christine enter mediation with fellow new teacher Audrey and Connor making a new friend in a new pupil called Kevin.
