A star from the original “Star Trek” will play the uncle of CBS drama character.

George Takei will guest star on Hawaii Five-0. He will play the uncle of Chin (played by Daniel Dae Kim). That also makes him Kono’s (played by Grace Park) uncle. He will appear in at least one episode, which is slated to air in December.
Takei famously played Hikaru Sulu in the original “Star Trek” television series. He also had a recurring role on “Heroes.”
Takei will also soon appear on “The New Normal,” along with Nicole Richie for some reason.
"Proud to announce Nicole Richie and the legendary George Takei are joining The New Normal family," executive producer Ryan Murphy tweeted. The date of Takei’s appearance and who he will play are still unknown.
The show centers around a gay couple (played by Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha), who have successful careers but want a baby. Goldie (Georgia King) agrees to be their surrogate, to the dismay of her cantankerous grandmother Jane (played by Ellen Barkin).
Takei recently appeared on “The Celebrity Apprentice.”
“Hawaii Five-0” is on Mondays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
“The New Normal” airs on NBC at 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
