ABC's steamy new drama Nashville has critics and fans buzzing as each week the music-filled show delivers backstabbing, love triangles and plenty of behavior that would make your grandmother blush. The show follows teen vixen Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) as an upcoming country star who will stop at nothing to be the biggest star in Nashville.
Her character is modeled after Carrie Underwood, but anyone can see the spitfire of Miranda Lambert in her songs and confidence as well. In a larger marketing scheme, ABC released the first official video from Nashville, "Telescope." The music video features Barnes getting back at her "schemin'" boyfriend played by Daniel Ness. She sings in a tight blue dress as she ties Ness up with rope and hangs him upside down to teach him a lesson.
Since the show is based around the dueling careers of Barnes and "elder" Reyna Jaymes (Connie Britton), it's not surprising that they would use this as a way to draw in viewers. ABC notes that this is not the only video to come from the series. Britton, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio will also release videos in the future. Few may realize that Jackson had a semi-successful run as a Christian rockstar during his days on General Hospital. Jackson was the frontman of Scarlet Road and currently plays with his brother Richard in Enation.
Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
